School Transport

Care Transit’s transportation services are also available for school students. We believe in inclusivity and that all students have accessible transportation services. Thus, we also provide transportation services to all students, regardless of the kind of disability they have. At Care Transit, we have adequately trained drivers and well-maintained vehicles, safety equipment like seat belts, which ensures a safe and secure journey for school students in our vehicles.

Additionally, we have a streamlined network of communication, through which we are in touch with parents/guardians of school students using our transportation services. Proper information regarding schedules, routes, pick-up/drop-off procedures are relayed to the parents/guardians of the students. Any changes or delays being accommodated are also efficiently conveyed to the parents/guardians of the students.

Primary Highlights

• Vehicles with Wheelchair and Mobility devices accessibility:

  We have wheelchair-accessible vehicles, which are capable of accommodating any kind of wheelchair or mobility devices. This makes it easier for students to travel with us, without having to face the daily hardships of travelling by regular transport. Furthermore, we have safety equipment inside the vehicle like seat belts, which makes it safe for students with disabilities to travel with us.

• Ramps for Wheelchairs:

  Our vehicles have ramps on the side-entry or rear-entry depending on a vehicle’s configuration. This makes it easier for the students in wheelchairs to enter our vehicles and travel with us.

• Trained drivers that can assist:

  The hardships that students with disabilities face are unique and it can be harder for people with no experience in dealing with such situations to manage. Thus, we have drivers who are trained in disability awareness and who are sensitive to the situations that such students may face. They are friendly and are capable of providing emergency assistance if needed during a journey to students with disabilities who are travelling with us.

• Efficient Communication:

  We maintain a streamlined communication network, through which we ensure that parents/guardians of students traveling with us have real-time updates regarding their trips. Additionally, information on schedules, pickup and drop off are efficiently conveyed on time. Any changes or delays are also relayed to parents/guardians for them to be on the same page, which reduces anxiety among parents/guardians. Furthermore, they can contact our Call Center anytime if they have any queries.

• Safety Standards:

  Care Transit’s vehicles are compliant with safety and mechanical operating and maintenance standards. In this regard, we have the approval of Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) regulations, Bureau of Motor Vehicles (BMV) licensing requirements and safety standards.

These community participation programs emphasize on providing support to individuals with disabilities. The activities encourage active involvement in social, recreational, cultural and community activities. It also includes group-based activities which can develop one’s social and vocational skills.
